MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC

Music. It’s blasting in our cars, stuffed deep into our ears, streaming out of our computers, phones, and gadgets. It wakes us up in the morning and follows us around all day. We can’t get enough of it. We are always looking for the next big thing or digging up old forgotten songs in our life’s soundtrack.

Music reminds us of people, places, and times (good and bad). Let us talk about music. What are your favorites right now? What’s got the most plays on your iPod? Share your special knowledge about a genre -your passion…

Aerosmith liked to bring chainsaws on tour with them to ease the hacking up of hotel rooms.  They also traveled with extra-long extension cords. It is much more fun to toss televisions out the window if they are still playing when they hit the ground.

One of my all time favorites!

ReleasedAugust 13, 1973

Shortly after Ronnie Van Zant's grandmother died, they got together in Van Zant's apartment and shared stories about their mothers. Rossington came up with a chord progression, and Van Zant wrote the lyrics based on advice the women had given them over the years. They wrote it in approximately an hour. Even though the lyrics state, "Sit beside me, my only son," Ronnie was not the only son. He had two younger brothers along with one older sister and one younger sister. Actually the song says "when I was young" so therefore, his younger brothers may not have been born yet, making him the only son.
